Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Butler Bulldogs walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Alexander Central 49-7 at home. The win was nothing new for Butler as they're now sitting on ten straight.
Butler's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zachary Lawrence, who threw for 163 yards and three touchdowns. Jayden Williams was another key contributor, rushing for 48 yards and two touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Alexander Central to a paltry 142 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Butler's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Mark Williams and his two sacks.
Butler's victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.7 points per game. As for Alexander Central, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Butler will stay at home for another week and welcome West Forsyth at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. West Forsyth has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 171 points over their last four games. Alexander Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
