Basketball Recap: Shelbyville Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Shelbyville won the last time they faced Sullivan and things went their way on Friday too. The Shelbyville Rams were the clear victor by a 69-45 margin over the Sullivan Redskins. That looming 69-45 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Rams yet this season.

Shelbyville had a senior duo take command as Jackson Jokisch went 8 of 15 on his way to 20 points along with eight boards and six assists and Myles Hammond went 6 of 11 en route to 18 points and five assists. The matchup was Jokisch's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Beyers, who posted eight points.

Shelbyville was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Shelbyville pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points per game. As for Sullivan, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Shelbyville and Mulberry Grove will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shelbyville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Sullivan, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 57-48 defeat against Robinson on the 21st.
