Catoctin faced Boonsboro in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Cougars never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on nine straight.
The result came thanks to Taylor Smith's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Catoctin's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bralyn West, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Kelsey Roberts also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
