Hillsboro is 0-10 against Haven since April of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Trojans will take on the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Hillsboro made easy work of Canton-Galva and carried off a 19-5 win. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Khloe Funk and Abby Beavers did most of the damage at the plate: Funk went 3-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Beavers scored five runs and stole a base while going 5-for-5. Those six RBI gave Funk a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Bernhardt, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Haven won against Smoky Valley on Tuesday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Wildcats beat the Vikings by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-1. The win was just business as usual for the Wildcats, who after four games remain undefeated this season.
Avery Brawner was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base.
In other batting news, Haven got a massive performance out of Ella Bontrager, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Karlee Cooprider also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Haven hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five strikeouts batters in ten consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Haven's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Hillsboro, their record now sits at 2-0.
Hillsboro suffered a grim 24-0 defeat to Haven when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
