Mount Miguel simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Granite Hills 90-59 at home. Fans of Mount Miguel have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mount Miguel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mekhi Sydney, who scored 26 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Sydney has scored at least 25% of Mount Miguel's points. Thaddeus Boudreaux was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Mount Miguel's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Granite Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Miguel will take on Patrick Henry at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Patrick Henry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 481st, while Mount Miguel is ranked 219th). As for Granite Hills, they will head out on the road to face off against Grossmont at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Grossmont comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
