3A Northern recap September 4, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Taden Blaise and Justin Vigil connected against Littleton. The connection was good for 75 yards, the longest such play in 3A Northern this season.
Erie was the team made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in the league. The Tigers vanquished Mitchell 35-14 earlier in the week.
Thomas Jefferson's dynamic duo of Blaise and Vigil proved to be unstoppable against the Lions, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Blaise threw for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns and Vigil had 150 yards receiving. Dylan Holt helped Thomas Jefferson's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 60 yards.
The Spartans' dynamic duo of Blaise and Vigil proved tough for Littleton to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Vigil was the best wideout in the league this week as Thomas Jefferson lost to the Lions.
Joe Ramey was the most successful running back in 3A Northern this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 153 yards as Erie fell to Littleton. Teammate Christian Mickey added to the ground attack by rushing for 102 yards.
He went 13-30 with 0 interceptions.
Blaise put up the best numbers in passing as the Spartans fell to the Lions.
Thomas Jefferson's Blaise and Vigil have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Blaise has thrown for 250 yards this season, while Vigil, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 6 catches for 150 yards. Larry Gartrell's team's Ramey leads the league in rushing yards with 153.
Holy Family moved up to 65 from 92 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Tigers were able to make move up by topping Faith Christian 42-16.
