Having just played yesterday, the Riverdale Rebels will jump right back in to play the Academy of Our Lady Penguins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Riverdale is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
On Friday, Riverdale had to suffer through a rough 54-17 loss at the hands of Chalmette. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Riverdale has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Mikeya Allen, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Academy of Our Lady's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Thursday after their sixth straight loss. The match between Academy of Our Lady and Catholic of Pointe Coupee wasn't particularly close, with Academy of Our Lady falling 55-40.
Riverdale's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Academy of Our Lady, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Everything came up roses for Riverdale against Academy of Our Lady in their previous matchup on December 5th as the squad secured a 50-23 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Riverdale since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
