The Shields Panthers won the last time they faced the W.S. Neal Eagles, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Shields escaped with a win against W.S. Neal by the margin of a single free throw, 35-34. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Shields has scored all year.
Dante Leffall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cantangelo Hicks, who scored seven points along with four steals and two blocks.
The victory makes it two in a row for Shields and bumps their season record up to 9-12. As for W.S. Neal, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shields and Georgiana will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Georgiana will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. As for W.S. Neal, W.S. Neal and T.R. Miller will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully T.R. Miller focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
