The West Catholic Falcons had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Wellspring Prep 86-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Wellspring Prep's lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zeekeal Jackson, who scored 23 points. Jackson scored a full 35.9% of Wellspring Prep's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Camren Hull, who scored 18 points.
West Catholic's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Wellspring Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
West Catholic will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Godwin Heights at 7:15 p.m. on December 12th. As for Wellspring Prep, they will be playing at home against Zion Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
