Last Monday, Apache Junction suffered a rough 50-28 loss at the hands of Baboquivari. While losing is never fun, Apache Junction can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 317th, while Baboquivari is ranked 158th).
Despite the loss, Apache Junction saw an underclassman step up: Tucker Barks scored six points along with five rebounds.
Apache Junction struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Benson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a 54-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Morenci.
Apache Junction's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Benson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
