After flying high against the Lordstown Red Devils on Wednesday, the Leetonia Bears came back down to earth. Leetonia took a serious blow against Columbiana on Friday, falling 61-18. Leetonia has not had much luck with Columbiana recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Carson Brock was Leetonia's leading scorer, having posted five points.
Dylan Johns took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Columbiana's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Seth Struharik, who scored 18 points along with five steals. Maddox Brown was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Leetonia bumped their record down to 2-9 with that defeat, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leetonia will take on Southern at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for Columbiana, they will stay at home for another game and welcome East Palestine at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Hopefully East Palestine focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
