Basketball Recap: St. John's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was a good run, but St. John unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 85-65 to The Woodlands Christian Academy Warriors. The Mavericks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 56-55.

St. John's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sebastian Williams-Adams, who went 8 for 13 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds, and Malachi Booker, who posted 20 points. Booker's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Teo Nelson, who had nine points and five rebounds.

St. John's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for The Woodlands Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

St. John's didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-59 loss against Prep Student Academic Training Academy National on the 7th. As for The Woodlands Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 64-54 victory against St. Francis Episcopal on the 7th.
