Stigler and the Wolves are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Stigler Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Heavener Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Oklahoma (Stigler is ranked 151st, while the Wolves are ranked 147th).
Last Tuesday, Stigler was beaten by the Indians 63-36. Stigler has struggled against the Indians recently, as their game on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Heavener proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 21) but on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Talihina and snuck past 41-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Heavener.
Heavener can attribute much of their success to Jackson Clubb, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Isaac Cook was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Stigler's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Heavener, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
Things could have been worse for Stigler, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-44 loss to the Wolves in their previous meeting back in December of 2023.
