Cardinal Mooney's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Inspiration Academy Red with a sharp 8-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.
The result came thanks to Austin Shields's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Hossenlopp, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of J.D. James, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

North Port's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cardinal Mooney hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. It's a different story for North Port, though, as they've only averaged .222. Will they be able to contain Cardinal Mooney's hitters?
