The Weimar Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Schulenburg Shorthorns at 6:20 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Weimar suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 65-32 loss at the hands of Shiner. While losing is never fun, Weimar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 904th, while Shiner is ranked 224th).
Meanwhile, Schulenburg came up short against Ganado on Tuesday and fell 42-31. Schulenburg has not had much luck with Ganado recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Fay Kutac was Schulenburg's leading scorer, having posted ten points.
Haylee Vacek held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Weimar and nudges their season record down to 11-13. As for Schulenburg, their loss dropped their record down to 6-24.
Weimar strolled past Schulenburg in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 40-25. Will Weimar repeat their success, or does Schulenburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
