Watson Posts Huge Game in 61-14 Victory
Starting off the list is East Surry's Troy Watson, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Watson rushed for 193 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries.
East Surry now has a winning record of 3-2. Watson's next matchup is against Forbush on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.

Mason Jewell Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Friday, Surry Central got the W thanks in part to Mason Jewell playing the best football he has all season. Jewell rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 121 yards and two touchdowns on only six passes. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 74 yards.
The win (which was Surry Central's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Jewell and Surry Central will venture away from home to take on North Surry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Fisher Leftwich Crosses Big Stat Threshold

He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
North Wilkes had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Leftwich it was a similar story. When Leftwich last faced the Vikings back in September of 2023, he picked up 134 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

On Friday, Surry Central got the W thanks in part to Brian Williams playing the best football he has all season. Williams picked up 83 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 83 yards.
For the year, Williams has caught 2 touchdowns while averaging 35.8 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after six games last season, he had three rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to six.
