If the Tennessee Vikings were riding high off their 81-57 takedown of the Sullivan East Patriots last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Tennessee took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fighting Cyclones. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tennessee in their matchups with the Fighting Cyclones: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the defeat, Tennessee saw an underclassman step up: Addie Wilhoit scored 28 points along with five steals. Wilhoit is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Keeyanah Foote, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Tennessee's defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Elizabethton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season.
Tennessee will head out on the road to face off against the Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully David Crockett focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Elizabethton, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Hilltoppers at 6:30 p.m. Science Hill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
