Abingdon had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Battle 34-8. That result is just more of the same for Abingdon, who also won the last time these teams played.
Abingdon's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 28 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Battle couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 28-0 heading into the break. Abingdon were outperformed in the second half 6-8 but had enough in reserve from the first to take the game. This was the first game for both teams, giving Abingdon a 1-0 record and starting Battle off at 0-1.
