Pearl is 2-8 against Northwest Rankin since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Both teams will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Pearl pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brandon.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Northwest Rankin's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were beaten by Meridian 64-30. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northwest Rankin has scored all season.
Pearl has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-11 record this season. As for Northwest Rankin, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-18.
Pearl barely slipped by Northwest Rankin in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 55-54. Does Pearl have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northwest Rankin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
