The Vernon Yellowjackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight loss. They were outmatched by Chipley at home and fell 81-39. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Vernon in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.
Albert McKinnie continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chipley, scoring 29 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McKinnie has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hunter Prough, who scored 11 points.
Vernon dropped their record down to 2-19 with that loss, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Chipley, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.
The pair will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Chipley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for they, they will take on Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Vernon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 754th, while the Tigers are ranked 279th).
