Ja'marion Garrett Earns League's Top Spot
Starting off the list is Dunbar's Ja'Marion Garrett, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Garrett rushed for 193 yards and five touchdowns on only six carries.
For the year, Garrett has run in 10 touchdowns while averaging 165 rushing yards per game.

Groeneweg Posts Huge Game in 56-6 Victory
Josiah Groeneweg was a major factor in Glen Rose's win over Hillsboro on Friday. Hillsboro had no answer to Groeneweg as he rushed for 202 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. Groeneweg showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 61 yards.
If history really does repeat itself, Groeneweg might just drop another big game when he faces off against Venus on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Groeneweg saw the Bulldogs), he picked up 212 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Canyon Evans Makes It Two for Glen Rose
Keeping Groeneweg company is Canyon Evans, a fellow Glen Rose player. He threw for 231 yards and five touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played.
Evans is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Venus on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Evans saw the Bulldogs), he threw for 379 yards and six touchdowns on only 19 passes.

Sadly, Adam Pempsell posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Godley over Benbrook on Friday. Pempsell rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns.
Godley now has a losing record at 3-4. Pempsell's next match is against Dunbar on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid performance.

Brennan Barton's Big Game Leads Benbrook over Godley
Brennan Barton's big game helped extend Benbrook's winning streak to seven on Friday. Nobody could stop Barton as he threw for 211 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 59 yards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
Barton must have Godley's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Barton threw for 254 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt the last time he and the Wildcats duked it out back in November of 2023.
