Peyton Floyd threw for 132 yards on 14 of 28 attempts. Donovan Price was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards. On the ground, Jaqson Melton rushed for 79 yards.
Thompson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aj Green, who rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns.
Hewitt-Trussville's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Thompson, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
