St. Charles can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Huntingtown as St. Charles made off with a 62-40 win. Given St. Charles' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Huntingtown is ranked 195th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Shamir Taylor, who scored 22 points along with three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last six games he's played. Aiden Woodberry was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Patuxent, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-36 loss to La Plata on Wednesday. Patuxent has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
St. Charles is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Patuxent, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.
Everything came up roses for St. Charles against Patuxent in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 81-41 win. Will St. Charles repeat their success, or does Patuxent have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
