In what's become a running theme this season, the Malad Dragons gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat West Side 71-35 at home. Given Malad's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while West Side is ranked 98th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, West Side still got an impressive performance from Holly Kropf, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kropf has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tommi Henderson, who scored eight points.
Malad pushed their record up to 18-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for West Side, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 17 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.
Malad will face off against Soda Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. West Side does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
