Baseball Recap: St. Andrew's Episcopal Has No Trouble Against Bogue Chitto

St. Andrew's Episcopal's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Bogue Chitto Bobcats 15-5. The Saints might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.

Mark Eaton made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Stone Myrick, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Cash Myrick was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

St. Andrew's Episcopal always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bogue Chitto only posted an OBP of .280.

St. Andrew's Episcopal has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. Bogue Chitto dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

French Camp Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.92 runs per game on average), something St. Andrew's Episcopal will no doubt try to take advantage of.
