The Carrizozo Grizzlies will be playing at home against the Clovis Christian Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Carrizozo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Carrizozo ended up a good deal behind Cloudcroft and lost 39-25. Carrizozo has not had much luck with Cloudcroft recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Bryana Villanueva, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds. She scored a full 36% of Carrizozo's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amalia Gabaldon, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Clovis Christian entered their tilt with Plainview Christian with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Clovis Christian breezed by Plainview Christian on the road to the tune of 44-6.
Clovis Christian found their leader in underclassman Hannah McKay, who scored 13 points along with 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which McKay has scored at least 25% of Clovis Christian's points. Jalisa Raney was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals.
Grady's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Carrizozo's loss dropped theirs to 1-3.
