The Moapa Valley Pirates suffered their biggest  defeat yet this season on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough  105-46 loss at the hands of Rancho. Moapa Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  59-24.
 Moapa Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Bryson Walker, who  scored 18 points along with two  steals.  Chase Neilson was another key contributor,  scoring eight points.
 It was another big night for  Jakoi Lide, who  scored 41 points along with five  steals for Rancho. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Lide has scored all season. Another player making a difference was  Jordan Childress, who  scored 21 points along with six  steals.
 Moapa Valley has  not been sharp recently, as they've  lost eight of their last ten games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12-1 record this season. As for Rancho, the  win was  the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
 Moapa Valley will head out on the road to  face off against  Somerset Sky Pointe at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Somerset Sky Pointe knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Moapa Valley likes a good challenge. As for Rancho, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Palo Verde at 6:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Palo Verde is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
