After losing to the Hardaway Hawks the last time they met, the Bainbridge Bearcats decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Bainbridge walked away with a 59-52 win over Hardaway on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Bainbridge.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bainbridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aj Grant, who scored 16 points. Grant hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Tyrese ?Ty? Jones was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Hardaway lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mekhi Benton. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaire Hodge, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Bainbridge has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Hardaway, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-11.
Bainbridge will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Early County at 7:30 p.m. Early County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60 points per game this season. As for Hardaway, they will head out on the road to take on Shaw at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Shaw has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 361 points over their last six matchups.
