Meanwhile, Christian Academy put the finishing touches on their 13th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Carolina Academy with a sharp 36-13 win. The victory was familiar territory for Christian Academy who now have five in a row.
Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Claire Owens led the charge by scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Owens has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Carly Belle Jackson, who scored 11 points along with six steals.
Florence Christian now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Florence Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.6 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Florence Christian was taken down by Christian Academy 42-12 in their previous meeting two weeks ago.
