If the Bonner Springs Braves were feeling good off their 75-46 takedown of the Turner Golden Bears last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Bonner Springs fell 53-45 to Louisburg on Friday. Bonner Springs was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Louisburg apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Several Braves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jason Jones, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Rolfe jr., who scored 12 points.
Bonner Springs' loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4. As for Louisburg, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonner Springs on the road again on Tuesday and play against Leavenworth at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Leavenworth is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Louisburg, they will head out on the road to take on Ottawa at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
