The Giles County Bobcats will face off against the Franklin County Rebels at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
It was a proper cat-fight when Giles County took on Lawrence County on Tuesday. The Bobcats fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Bobcats have lost by just one run.

Caydee Pipkins put in work no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run.
Pipkins wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Josylan Tate, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Franklin County waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Warriors as they made off with a 14-3 victory. Franklin County's win was all the more impressive since the Warriors were averaging only 3.2 runs allowed on the season.
Like Giles County, Franklin County also got a great game from a two-way player: Isabella Smith. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Franklin County let Victoria Nelson and Kyleigh DeCamp run wild. Nelson went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while DeCamp went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Those three hits gave DeCamp a new career-high. Hadley Jolley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Franklin County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.
Giles County has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin County, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11.
