The Julian Eagles lost against the Bonsall Legionnaires back in December of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Julian was dealt a 74-47 defeat at the hands of Bonsall. Julian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-15.
Julian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenny Morytko, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Morytko set a new season high mark in steals with six. Another player making a difference was Carlo Martinez , who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Kaimana Levy was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals for Bonsall. The matchup was Levy's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Nathan Winebrenner was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Julian now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Bonsall, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Julian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Monarch at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th. As for Bonsall, they will head out on the road to face off against Gompers Prep Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
