The Seton Catholic Central Knights had to endure a five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They managed a 39-33 victory over Lake Placid on Thursday. That 39-33 margin sets a new team best for Seton Catholic Central this season.
Aiden Pearl was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Seton Catholic Central's points. Another player making a difference was Sam DeJordy, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Seton Catholic Central's win bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Lake Placid, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4.
Seton Catholic Central and Saranac will round out the year against one another at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Saranac is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Lake Placid will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chazy at 6:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Chazy and Lake Placid are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
