The Sterling Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Weld Central Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Sterling strolled past Eaton with points to spare, taking the game 66-51. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sterling.
Sterling found their leader in underclassman Dayten DiOrio, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and two steals. DiOrio hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Colin Linn, who scored 12 points.
Weld Central posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They really took it to Brush for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-25 win at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-10.
Sterling is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Weld Central, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Sterling skirted past Weld Central 55-52 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Weld Central's Brenden Buzzell, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 18 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Sterling to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
