Proctor Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the New Hampton School Huskies as they made off with a 16-0 victory. This was payback for the Hornets, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.
Abbie Vlacich was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Vlacich was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Proctor Academy got a massive performance out of Addy Boucher, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Caroline Dove, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Proctor Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Hampton School only posted an OBP of .176.
Proctor Academy has already played their next contest (against Kents Hill School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for New Hampton School, they will face off against Phillips Exeter Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
