The Harmony Area Owls's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell just short of Blacklick Valley by a score of 66-63. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Harmony Area has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, Harmony Area still got an impressive performance from Jack Bracken, who scored 38 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. That was a full 60.3% of Harmony Area's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. JJ Sward was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Blacklick Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gino DiPaolo out in front who scored 14 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points DiPaolo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Reba, who scored 16 points.
Harmony Area has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Blacklick Valley, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harmony Area will take on Moshannon Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Blacklick Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Shanksville Stonycreek at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Shanksville Stonycreek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Wednesday.
