The Chesnee Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Greenville Tech Charter Warriors at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Chesnee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 11 more assists than your opponent, a fact Chesnee proved. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Liberty 80-51 on the road. The victory was just what Chesnee needed coming off of a 66-46 defeat in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chesnee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daniel Wease, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. Brady Poole was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Greenville Tech Charter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 91-48 loss at the hands of Landrum. While losing is never fun, Greenville Tech Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Cardinals are ranked 47th).
Chesnee now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Greenville Tech Charter, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Chesnee against the Warriors when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 90-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chesnee since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
