The Brewer Patriots will be playing at home against the Plainview Bears at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Brewer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
Brewer posted their closest victory since November 21, 2023 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 60-57 win over Danville. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Cason Oden and Austyn Holmes were among the main playmakers for Brewer as the former dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds and the latter scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Holmes also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Ballinger, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Plainview unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Jacksonville by a score of 52-50. Plainview has struggled against the Golden Eagles recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Brewer is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-14 record this season. As for Plainview, their loss ended a 19-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 23-7.
