Softball Recap: Morrison's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Morrison came tearing into Tuesday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Ashton-Franklin Center Raiders 15-0. Considering the Mustangs have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Bella Scachette, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Pruis, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Morrison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Morrison pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Ashton-Franklin Center, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-25.

Morrison will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Raiders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
