The T.R. Miller Tigers will face off against the Jay Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
T.R. Miller came up short against Orange Beach on Friday, falling 16-4. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Madi Anderson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Jay put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Central get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.
Daisy Johnson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in February. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carleigh Baker, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Kiley Samford was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Jay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central only posted an OBP of .167.
Jay pushed their record up to 12-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for T.R. Miller, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. T.R. Miller hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Jay struggles in that department as they've averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went T.R. Miller's way against Jay in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as T.R. Miller made off with a 12-2 victory. Will T.R. Miller repeat their success, or does Jay has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
