Meanwhile, Needles stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They breezed by Awaken Christian at home to the tune of 82-32. With Needles ahead 43-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Luca Walema and Xavier Russell were among the main playmakers for Needles as the former dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds and the latter scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Russell hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Darrell Russell was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Adelson bumped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Needles, their victory bumped their record up to 20-0.
Adelson was dealt a bruising 80-23 defeat at the hands of Needles in their previous matchup last Thursday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Walema, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds.
