The Elko Indians will square off against the Fernley Vaqueros at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elko is coming into the game hot, having won their last 17 games.
Ten must be Elko's lucky number: they beat Lowry with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Indians didn't even let the Buckaroos on the board, marking the Indians' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 19 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Adam Roumanos made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 11 contests.

Coy Jones
| 05/01/26 vs Lowry | 3 |
| 04/11/26 @ Churchill County | 2 |
| 03/14/26 vs Sparks | 2 |
| 04/01/25 @ White Pine | 2 |
| 03/15/25 @ North Valleys | 2 |
In other batting news, Coy Jones was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Ryder Miller was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Elko always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lowry only posted an OBP of .095.
Meanwhile, while Fernley put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Dayton. The Vaqueros walked away with a 5-0 win over the Dust Devils.
Like Elko, Fernley also got a great game from a two-way player: Vance Swindlehurst. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Swindlehurst was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Riley McCullar, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Fernley's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 14-2 (and 7-9 when he doesn't).
Elko's victory bumped their record up to 25-6. As for Fernley, their win bumped their record up to 21-11.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Elko hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. However, it's not like Fernley struggles in that department as they've averaged .327. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Elko got the 'W' in their previous meeting last Saturday against Fernley by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
