Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 12 more assists than your opponent, a fact the School of the Woods Wildcats proved on Tuesday. They came out on top against Angleton Christian by a score of 55-43. For School of the Woods, this counts as revenge for the 100-38 defeat the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
School of the Woods got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kieran Knight out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals. Knight hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Tyler Gwinn, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Angleton Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Graham Rosa, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Joel Lovell was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
School of the Woods' victory bumped their record up to 12-15. As for Angleton Christian, they have fallen quite a ways from their 30-8 record last season and are now at 4-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. School of the Woods will challenge the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Angleton Christian, they will head out on the road to take on the Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Banff has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 16.
