Violet Soto and Allison Villa were among the main playmakers for Lone Pine as the former had four digs and two aces and the latter had eight kills, three digs, and one block.
They weren't the only good servers: Lone Pine was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Lee Vining hadn't done well against Baker recently (they were 1-7-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Braves. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.
Lee Vining not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Baker between 16 and 19 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-17, 25-19.
Lee Vining's win came from a few key players Lone Pine will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ember Elits, who had 17 assists and six aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Gain, who had 13 assists and four aces.
Lone Pine's win bumped their record up to 10-11-2. As for Lee Vining, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
