Basketball Recap: Hope Christian Academy Gets the Win

Hope Christian Academy won the last time they faced First Assembly Christian, and Aziah Amberson did his part to make sure it happened again. Hope Christian Academy claimed a resounding 63-33 victory over the First Assembly Christian Lions thanks in part to Amberson, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 25 points along with six boards and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Hope Christian Academy's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Bozeman, who posted eight points and 11 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.

First Assembly Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Hanners, who had eight points. Garrison Williams was another key player, putting up eight points.

Hope Christian Academy's record now sits at 8-2. As for First Assembly Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Hope Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Coosa Valley Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for First Assembly Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against Brooklane Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Brooklane Baptist's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.
