Even though the Spartanburg Vikings scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, the Dorman Cavaliers still came out on top. Dorman snuck past Spartanburg with a 62-56 win. Given Dorman's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Spartanburg is ranked 109th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dorman got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nakiyah Kelly out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Rihanna Wallace, who scored 15 points along with six assists and four steals.
Dorman is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. As for Spartanburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.
Dorman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Spartanburg also has no future games currently scheduled.
