Basketball Game Preview: Chicago Hope Academy vs. St. Edward Green Wave

Chicago Hope Academy will take on the St. Edward Green Wave at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

St. Edward is hoping to do what Aurora Christian couldn't on Monday: put an end to Chicago Hope Academy's winning streak, which now stands at five games. Chicago Hope Academy simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Aurora Christian 61-33.

Chicago Hope Academy relied on the efforts of Amoria Allen, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, and Janessa Centeno, who went 5 of 6 on her way to 15 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Allen's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Danae Hickman, who posted seven points.

Meanwhile, St. Edward humbled Wheaton Academy with a 60-30 victory. That looming 60-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Green Wave yet this season.

Chicago Hope Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for St. Edward, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Chicago Hope Academy suffered a grim 59-33 defeat to St. Edward in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Chicago Hope Academy was down 36-15.
