After a string of three wins, Phoebus's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the King's Fork Bulldogs by a score of 10-9.
Suniya White was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and nine unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Kadence Bone made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ariana Robinson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Phoebus' defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for King's Fork, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2-1.
