The Libby Loggers will take on the Ronan Chiefs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Libby is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.

Libby is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Montana's top teams: Columbia Falls, who was ranked 17th at the time (Libby was ranked 25th). The Loggers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 6-4 on Saturday. The contest marked the Loggers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Carmen Kohler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Leah Rusdal and Bently Houston did some serious damage despite the final result: Rusdal went 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base, while Houston went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Hadleigh Wood was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ronan). They were the clear victors by a 24-7 margin over Whitefish on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Chiefs in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

The victory got Ronan back to even at 2-2. As for Libby, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3.
