The Winters Warriors lost against the Pierce Bears back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Winters took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pierce.
Drew Burnum continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pierce, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. The match was Burnum's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Gavin Guynn was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Winters' loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Pierce, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winters will take on Colusa at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Colusa focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday. As for Pierce, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Paradise at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Paradise is ranked 1187th, while Pierce is ranked 1212th).
